about us fern pics

With clients around the globe we are blessed to work in a 100 year old, listed, thatch building, five minutes walk from a golden beach, nestling in a deep valley halfway between Cape Town and Cape Point, in South Africa.

The Cultivate team comprises an eclectic mix of passionate educators, technologists, graphic and 3D designers, researchers, authors, scriptwriters and young community based apprentices. Our passions revolve around teaching, learning, assessment, design, education, organisational learning, art, adoption of technology, change disturbances, technology innovation, 21st century skills and aptitudes for education transformation.'

We are passionate about clients using the technology available to them, both through web 2.0 type tools, technology through traditional vendors and Open Source innovation. Getting involved in this area we (Eiffel-Corp) created a completely new company (Cultivate) in 2004 to focus and address the issue of technology adoption. As former educators we cannot sleep at night knowing that we have not heavily invested in our clients' ability to get maximum return on their technology investments, as this has been traditionally our source of income. Education has far too an important role to play in this day and age, the affordances of innovation have to be integrated and not seen as ‘bolt on’. To achieve this we need to understand what systemic thresholds innovation has to cross over to reach widespread and rich adoption.' CEO André vd Merwe Cultivate.
